NUC Phased Out Mass Communication As A Nigerian University Course

Mass Communication will now seize to be a course of study in Nigerian universities

The National Universities Commission (NUC), Nigeria’s apex body in charge of overseeing university education has approved the unbundling of Mass Communication as a course of study in the country’s citadels of higher learning.

Mass Communication will seize to be an academic programme while in its place, seven programs will be awarded.

Whether as a faculty of Arts or Social Science endeavour, the programme currently known as Mass Communication will now be splinter into seven degree awarding programmes.

These are;

Journalism and Media Studies, Public Relations, Advertising, Broadcasting, Film and Multi-Media Studies, Development Communications Studies, Information & Media Studies.
